i just saw charlie and th chocolate fatory and holy crap! it was amazing! tim burton does an incredible job with this classic!
i would not call it a remake, rather it was a revamp, it help to the story but still managed to be it's own movie, the umpaloompa songs were modenized and the overall singing was stream lined to keep the flow of the movie.
this story concentrated more on the charecters and less on the factory, it even gave the back story of both willy wonka AND the umpaloompas,
the ending was alot more satisfying than the original giving more closure to the story
the best part is that all of the umpaloompas were the same actor, this just added the there dynamic role, this movie was just funny without trying too hard.
this is now one of my top five favorite movies
