Last Saturday I went to my first Furlife Meetup. I was a little hesitant about attending but I was encouraged to come by Michael J Fox, the Furlife organizer and Kijani Lion who put together this meetup. Thunder Orca, another meetup member, also joined in getting Odakota out of his nest for the day. I guess I should remind you I'm relatively new to the Furry Fandom and fursuiting, my only experience being at Further Confusion in January. So Saturday I packed up the fursuit, preloaded the raccoon with Gatorade and drove an hour north to Majestic Lanes in Lynnwood; that's right, "fursuit Bowling." Never mind that I had about as much experience bowling as I had in a fursuit. I work on my lack of confidence on the drive up, remembering something Michael had said.... you just throw the ball down the alley to fill in the breaks in the conversation. Yep, easy, right. So, finally, here's Odakota at "When Furballs Strike II." Went in, found Michael, then Kijani. Met too many others to accurately put names with faces and suits, there was upwards of 50 furs that attended. My friend Thunder Orca hunted me down and we got to talk after the bowling was done. And how well did Odakota bowl you might ask? Well, I'll just say my game needs some work; but like Michael said "its a social thing" and Odakota had much fun--good furry times.
