It's the episode where he exercises his photographic memory in order to get that submarine code (So! Cool!). I couldn't help wondering how he could write properly with his eyes closed....I've tried it and it's damn hard. lol.
*denial* I know he's not going to ever come back now, I mean, they mentioned Pakistan already and there was no talk of him (although I like to think that if Jo had been around at that point she'd have at least thought it.) *Sigh* We can dream.
It is? I'm always writing notes on lined paper while I read off a computer screen without looking at what I'm writing. I just tried with my eyes closed and I can still write properly.
S7 Lucas is the Lucas I love. Sharp, enigmatic, subtle, intelligent....all the things Adam wasn't basically. S8 Lucas, however, I am trying to block from my memory. :)
I've been re-watching Spooks (surprise, surprise) and it was genuinely bizarre in that Adam was lovely in some episodes. Well, not lovely, but nice enough, and others he was an incompetent moron.
I'm mainly thinking s5ep10 with him and Ros in the Thames. When he cups her face in his hands... it's sweet. All of season 6 he was mediocre, and the short time in S7 he was alright except when giving him grand speech which always make me want to throw a pillow at the television.
Lucas on the other hand... he just doesn't do anything for me any more after the travesty that was the 'Sarah debacle.' :( A pity really.
Andrew on the other hand. Well, he's just gorgeous.
I loved series 8 despite some of the major holes. Probably because despite the whole Sarah-thing and Lucas torture, I felt it was Ros' series. She was just fantastic.
As for Andrew... "Ros, you should go, there's no sense in us both dying." - love him.
As odd as this will sound, I've always found female characters more interesting in most shows/books/films so it didn't bother me a great deal when Lucas went through all that Sarah angst, I was more interested in Ros and how she was coping with Jo's death. And, found it brilliant that unlike Adam, she made her grief/guilt work as an advantage in that she became even more ruthless.
Andrew I didn't like at first (I don't think you were meant to) but he was interesting on his own as you didn't know what his loyalties were, then he had the approval conversation with Ros and the rest, as they say, is history.
It doesn't sound odd, as I've found Ros to be fascinating throughout. I know you're mostly focussed on Ros, but didn't you like Lucas when he first came in?
Andrew, he's had such a small character arc (as yet), but a good one.
What makes you think I'm focused on Ros? Lucas is a good character, don't get me wrong, and I don't dislike him but I don't overly like him either. Which makes no sense whatsoever but there you go.
Andrew I liked because he could be so awkward with Harry, then semi-relaxed with Ros, show a personal side when he talks about his father, then shared hysteria, and then the knowledge that he'd understand if she left him in the corridor. So, he was on-screen for what, half-an-hour in total, and we got a big spectrum in those few minutes.
And that banner was going to be all my favourite characters. So: Ros, Ziva, Carol, Bellatrix but I figured the HN would be two of them so why not make it a Ros montage? Also, that's four, and I have a thing against even numbers on display. All my stuff around my flat, such as candles etc, are in clusters of odd numbers. They just seem to look better.
I was never overly enthusiastic about Lucas, but never overtly hated him....so same as you I suppose. And maybe not focussed, but we all have our particular characters who we like or identify with or whatever, wouldn't you say? It's not like you're obsessive or anything, it just seems to me that you have a larger focus on Ros as a character for whatever reason. Maybe I'm reading it wrong. Sorry.
Andrew is just great, full stop.
And your banner is perfect how it is! I especially like the middle pic. Hardcore!Ros. And I never noticed her eyes were actually green for the longest time.
Ruth and her necklace, probably praying when she died? Lucas staring, with those lovely eyes, Tariq, and Harry....
I am being a soppy mess, aren't I?

After S8 though, Lucas is no longer so great. I think I'll just have to forget about that series.....
Andrew, lovely Andrew! Gorgeous indeed.
