I'm in the Great American Southwest, visiting with Danny K. Goodtimes so far, although I was under the impression that it was going to be really warm down here. Apparently the mild CA weather followed me down. If that was the case, I should have just flown a cloud down here rather than the chaotic mess that was Southwest airlines. "Ok, everyone continuing to ABQ stay on the plane! No, everybody off of the plane; we'll put you on another plane even though you no longer have a boarding pass! Stay right here, you will board the next plane leaving this gate! No, another plane will leave first! No, now go to gate five, you will be the next flight there. No! Now you are waiting until the second flight out of gate five. No, NOW you are all going to huff it down to Gate 1 on the other end of the terminal." I'm not even kidding; it was a miracle everyone figured out where to go considering the barely-audible speakers that were in use at LAX.
On that note, I had never been through LAX before. People-watching there is a lot of fun.
Just received word that our friend V. accepted M's proposal in Yosemite. And J is expected to propose to D in Massachusetts today. That brings us up to 5 upcoming weddings in 2009 plus 4 newly engaged couples likely to marry in 2010. I may need a second job.
Today we're going to the Albuquerque Wine Festival to sample New Mexico's finest blends. New Mexico has grapes? All I've seen so far has been grass, cactus, and agave. (Mmmmmh tequila.)
