Wherein I Hate on Fall 2007 TV

Oct 14, 2007 21:20

So, when it's all said and done, I have formed no new TV relationship with any of the autumn offerings. Luckily, there has been much in the way of sports to keep me occupied (college football being the nervous mess of upsets that it is and Grady Sizemore being the cutie that he is) but I suspect that might've been part of the problem.

I've given up on Chuck and Reaper, more or less. They're both funny, Reaper moreso than Chuck, but the formulas are tiring and they aren't funny enough to keep me watching. I do really enjoy Pushing Daisies, though, because it makes me laugh.

Screw new shows as long as my favorite remains. Never leave me, Dunder-Mifflin employees.

Word. Thank goodness for old reliables. And whatever canceled gems you can catch on DVD. They will get you through!

I don't have Showtime, so we have to wait around for Dexter. I've heard things are going well, there.

It's kind of sad how many times I've re-watched Firefly, Slings & Arrows, and Twitch City. Lately I've been watching Heroes, The Office, and Journeyman. I'll want to catch up on My Name Is Early, ESPEN*, and Dexter after their seasons are over. It's just how we've always watched these three shows, and anyway we don't have Showtime either so we just end up downloading it.

And thank god for Adult Swim!

*Because of the popularity of the SPN abbreviation I started pronouncing as 'ES-PEN' in my head...like that dumb girl in those old hilarious ESPEN commercials. XD

Ha! I hated Amelie! I've never heard anybody say anything less than perfectly loving about that movie! I thought it/she was fake -- annoying -- I can't really articulate it, except to say I felt there was an essential falsity about the whole thing. She was just so cutesy-wootsy. And we were supposed to feel sorry for her -- this hottie woman-child who was perfectly posed and quirky all the time. I don't know. My roommate was watching it and I walked out pretty early.

Haha, well I guess that totally jibes with how I feel about Daisies, which is, I've heard, apparently supposed to be influenced by Amelie. And, after seeing it, I can easily sympathize how others would find the film a sickly sweet swallow. :P
