1) I've been at the house in the city, and not in the Nexus much. There's so much to do to keep the city running and John and I are it, so I'm very busy. Too busy. But I have Sarah- Have you met Sarah? I'm fine. 2) I'm in better health then I can remember ever being. I still take the cane if I'm going to walk long distances, but the pacemaker is going steady and I go for walks often, and it feels wonderful to not have to worry about my heart. 3) It's okay! I need to put aside the paperwork and talk to people more often. I'm not really sure... I like the Wizard of Oz, which is silly, but I see so many metaphorical parables for people I know in the Nexus. 4) I think 1984, but I'm glad I read it. On the other hand it was distressingly, depressingly, familiar. 5. I think some of us do these because they come up and we look and realize we haven't posted anything in our journal in a while. Some of them force you to think a little, I prefer that kind. Also human beings have a history of enjoying pointless, time-wasting forms of entertainment. ;) There must be some psychological need.
Sarah Brannigan(?).... I may have met her once or twice. She seems like a decent person, which doesn't surprise me. It is good to hear that you and she are there for each other, and that your heart problems are under control, these days.
The Wizard of Oz is one of those children's books that is far more clever than it initially seems. A lot of the most beloved children's authors worked to make their books like that, mixing an appealing story with some philosophical truth or elements of satire. As for 1984, it is, in my opinion, a book that should be read, no matter how painful it is.
Perhaps people just like getting attention in any shape and form.
If you are in love and comfortable with your relationship, then I think it is too late to be worried about whether it is a breach of professional conduct. Your mutual happiness more than makes up for it.
I should probably compose a list of books that I think other people should also read, but most of Steinbeck's writings and the poetry of T.S. Eliot would definitely be high on my list.
I'd probably enjoy just having a live conversation with you in the Sanctuary more, I'll admit, but it's nice to be able to stay in touch through the internet, no matter how impersonal it is.

If you have any reccomendations, I'll make a reading list. I am glad I read 1984, but I'm not reading it again anytime soon.
Are you enjoying the attention? We should talk more often.

I'll look for those! The offerings in the city are so limited I buy most of my books outside it, and I'm always glad to take reccomendations.
It's been too long since I visited the Sanctuary. I'll try to come some evening soon. Life always seems so busy.
