Abantey was a lot of fun. It was really cool how around campfire everyone started role-paying even more that usual. I did make some major mistakes though, and I hate how much I've been over analyzing them all since I got back. The problem with spending so much time with a bunch of people that you don't know very well is that eventually some ( Read more... )

Aw man, I seriously have to agree with you on Scarlet Letter. It was soooo draggy and slow (athough sometimes the sentence structure was interesting) that I quitted on the 3rd or 4th chapter. :/

And all the best for yr driving test!!!! :D

Yes, I think I would probabily have stopped too, if I had had a choice... I finished last night though, so now I don't have to think about it again until school starts.

Thanks! I'm really hoping it's as easy as some people have been saying. Of course, it's only people from nerd camp that have been saying that, so it might not mean anything.

Hahaha! Nerd camp! I haven't learnt driving before, so no comments, but u are a smart girl and Im sure you'll do fine. Even if you don't pass on the first try, there's always a second and a third. No biggie. :)

(is it expensive to learn driving in UK?)

So is the Scarlet Letter good?

I think I'll do fines with the actual driving part, but the test is all irrelevant numbers that they think you need to know in order to be a safe driver. Personally I don't think anyone ever looks to make sure they have exactly 1600 feet of clear space before they pass someone... I think driving will be fine though, one I get my nerve up to go past 1st gear. *smile ( ... )

Hehe its ok even if I get it twice! :P

And yeah, when I had read up to chapter 3 or 4, the overwhelming christianity bit really got to me. I mean, even though Im a christian, I find the whole novel so... one-sided abt the religion, as if only there's only one facet of it. All the sins, the remorse, the grief... man, why isn't there more forgiveness? And hearing that from you, Im glad I never read till the end. :P

Well in Singapore, learning how to drive is pretty expensive too. We did a calculation that day; it will probably costs $2000+ to learn driving. Insane, isn't it? Cars over here are ridiculously expensive (this's the govt's attempt to cut down on traffic, but it doesn't work) and it even comes with a certificate that you need to buy in order to own it. Sigh.

In anycase, I wish u all the best~~~~~! :D

Yikes that's expensive! It makes sence though, the US just isn't smart enough to really try to cut down on driving yet. Do you need to drive though? The public transportation here is very sporadic, and you can't get very many places withought making several bus changes and walking a ways.

Oh no, I don't need to drive. For many young people (or old), owning a car is a sign of weath and status here, but for me, I don't really care and I can't afford it anyway. Public transport is very good here so we can get to almost everywhere with bus, trains and what's taxis for? :P

That's really cool, both that you don't have/care about a car, and that you don't need one.
