Natasha leaned back in her seat as she waited for Coulson to come in. She knew that she was in trouble - she went the hard route instead of the “just seduce him” route - but the end was the same. They got the intel they needed and she got to rid the world of one more bad guys. In the end, she didn’t see the reason why the person had to stay alive. But this would mean that she would get a yelling at whenever Coulson decided to come into his office. “There are worse ways to start my day,” she said to herself as she sighed.
“Yes, there are,” Coulson said from behind her.
To her credit, she did not jump out of her seat. She wanted to, but she squashed it down. “So, lay it on me.”
Coulson went over to sit behind his desk, placing one of the coffees he carried in front of her, and then taking the other one for his own. He opened the file, took a sip of coffee, and leaned back. “The Director agrees that you did take the right course of action.”
“But?”
He smiled at that for a moment. “You do that again and I’m handing you off.”
“What?”
“Don’t make me repeat myself.” He closed the file. “I’m tired of cleaning up after your messes. I’m tired of you going off comm and deciding what is and is not acceptable. I am the one who is running the OP and you are the one who is following my orders.”
“I’m sorry.” She looked down. “I just - I don’t agree some of the time. You told me once, when I first came into this, that there is more than one way to skin a cat. Why is it wrong to do that with an op?”
“Because there is such a thing as communication,” he countered. “If I had known what you wanted to do in the first place, I would have let you. You still don’t trust me.”
“It’s hard to trust, you know that.”
“That’s true, I do.” He put the folder aside, showing another one and giving it to her. “This is our next target.”
She opened the folder and raised an eyebrow. “This is only one of the brothers.”
“We’re not all that sure there is another one. He might be using two code names. Either way, we’re going after him. I want to know how you would run the op. Impress me and I might even let you do it your way.”
She smiled at that. “Well, for one, I’m his type. He’s got a lot of information and it would be nice to hear what they’re doing. Plus, if there’s more than just him, it would be nice to know.”
“Nail down the rumor of them being CIA sanctioned.”
“Right,” she said. “I say we go with me trying to seduce him and bring him in. He can then decide his own fate. And I won’t go off base with this.”
He leaned back in his seat. He wasn’t expecting to hear that she wanted to actually seduce someone. “Are you trying to make up for something?”
“No sir,” was the reply.
“What’s the reason?”
“We need to figure out if it’s the CIA to shut them down,” she said. “We’re the only ones allowed to go outside the rules.”
“Us and UNIT at times.” He nodded a yes. “Go get ready - we leave for Germany in a hour.”
“Yes sir,” she said as she got up and took the coffee with her.

Clint downed his second scotch of the night as he looked around the bar. He was supposed to meet his contact here, but it had been a hour already. He was about to give up when he smiled as a red head came in. If nothing else, he would have a little fun tonight as he kept an eye on her. He grinned as she came over and took the empty seat next to him.
“Vodka, straight up,” Natasha ordered. She turned and smiled at Clint. “Hello.”
“Hi,” he said. “Down it and I’ll buy you the next one.”
“You’re on.” She took the glass as it was set in front of her and downed it without any sign of distress. She flipped the glass over and raised an eyebrow at him.
“Another one for the lady and a refill on mine,” he said to the bartender. “Unless you want to change to scotch.”
“I’ll leave you to your little drink,” she said. She waited until they had their drinks before she dropped her voice a bit. “Sorry to keep you waiting.”
“Hrm,” he said. “Are you now?”
“Yeah - ran into traffic getting here. You should know that SHIELD’s about.”
“Got my intel then?” He took a sip of his scotch as he felt her put a thumb drive into his pocket. “Thanks - as soon as it’s verified, you’ll get the money.”
“I have no doubt,” she said and finished the vodka. “Thanks for the drink.”
“Welcome - what’s your name?” He winced as he said that. “Sorry - they keep on saying that my curiosity is going to get the best of me one of these days.”
“It’s Tasha,” she said. “My number’s on there as well.”
He smiled at that and nodded to her as she left. He waited a few moments before paying for his drinks and leaving as well. He made it back to the hotel room, checked the info and gave the high sign that it was good, and found the document with her number in it. He dialed the number and said where to find him. He got up and opened the door when there was a knock and let her in. “Hi again.”
“Hi,” she said. She pulled him in for a kiss, making it long and deep. “Sorry about this.”
“About what?” he asked and then blinked as the room spun around him a bit. He shook his head, stepping back from her. He didn’t see her come up and force him down into a chair, sitting on top of him to pin him and zip tie him to the chair. She then stood up and waited for him to come out of the fog. “And to think I like you.”
“You still do,” she said with a look to his pants.
“That’s biology, not.. whatever you just did. You weren’t kidding when you said SHIELD was about.”
“You can tell yourself that,” she said with a smirk. “Now, two options. Come in willingly and work with us or go where the rest are going.”
“The rest?”
“The information you sent out had a virus that is going to give us whoever you sent it to,” she said and raised an eyebrow as he laughed. “What?”
“I knew there was a virus.”
This is new she thought and heard Coulson ask a question in her ear to ask him how. “How? And why send it anyways?”
“Who do you think called SHIELD with the tip in the first place?” He sighed. “You guys take a lot to get on your noticed list. I want to come in. I want to take down my handlers.”
“Why?”
“You’d do the same if they killed your wife and then think they erased the memories of her,” he said quietly. “And you’re the first woman I’ve had any sort of feelings to, so congrats.”
She smiled at that. “We’ll talk about that later - maybe with you out of zip ties.”
“I could try to drink you under the table.”
“You know this is being recorded, right?” she asked.
“You don’t seem to care either.”
“Touche,” she said and sighed. “Coulson?”
“Bring him in. We’ll use him - guess who gets to become an SO,” Coulson said. “Make sure to cuff him.”
She smiled and undid him from the chair, cuffing him and leading him out. “Welcome to the club.”
“Hrm,” he said. “Is your name really Tasha?”
“It’s Natasha, and you’re one of the few people allowed to call me that. Anybody else gets smacked.”
“I like that,” he said as he went with her. He sighed as he got into the truck, knowing that this was going to put a price on his head, but he didn’t care. It made the woman he wanted to get into bed trust him and he would go on from there.
