the best day of my life so far

I figured I should update here about the best news of my life .....

I'M ENGAGED!

Yes, that's right. Someone actually put a ring on it. I could not be happier. The way she proposed to me was absolutely perfect. We were both planning to make our first Christmas special for each other. I knew she had been planning something for a while. I'd have to go away for a night or she'd be locked up in a room "working on my surprise". I'm still not clear how much of it was already going to be a proposal or how long that part was planned. Anyway, the night before (December 21) I was to stay in our bedroom and not leave it until morning. I assumed she had something planned in the living room around the tree or something like that and I'd wake up and it would be like Santa came! So I stayed in our room and I could hear loud noises coming from the garage. By this point, I was so confused there was no way I'd ever guess what was happening. She told me I'd hear her start the car so don't be alarmed what Eventually, I went to sleep. I think she finally came to be about 4am.

I woke up the next morning super excited to finally see what she'd been hinting at and talking about for well over a month. I should point out that I got her a lot of special gifts as well, but she said it was important that I go first okay fin I had just three gifts under the tree. I was wondering where everything was. I was still confused. I'm not a material girl, but it did seem suspicious because she kept mentioning buying me things. Where were they? When I came in the living room two of my gifts were gone leaving just one. Hmmm. I opened the gift to find this:

I found my next gift in a drawer and it kept going from there. It was a present scavenger hunt! It was really fun and perfect!

My last gift led me to the garage. It was starting to come together that everything was leading to something special in the garage. I opened the door to find this:

I couldn't believe it. I knew she was doing something special, but never something like this. It's now called my "Winder Wonderland". I went up to the little pink bear named 'Wintersong" (Sarah McLachlan album name, ugh she's perfect for me) and she had a note for me as well:

I think this is when I figured things out. I think there were doubts, but it was starting to make sense. Digging through the snow, I found a cloth snowflake. I had trouble getting it open. She had to help me and then I could tell she was nervous and shaking. This just made me start shaking and I just wanted to cry. She proposed to me with a shaky voice and I believe I said "So yes." I should have just yelled it at her. We hugged and cried. It was the best moment of my life so far. She did an amazing job and did everything perfectly. Even the ring is perfect:

So that's our perfect proposal story. We've been planning our wedding and it's going to be so amazing. We have 9 months to plan so we can get it right. It will be 10/13, of course. So, a fall wedding! I'm working on a wedding website/blog at the moment. I'll link to it here for those interested in keeping up with it. :)

i'm getting married, love: jes, perfect proposal
