What is the fandom opinion on bending the canon timeline in a series where there are many generations of characters but a vaguely defined canon time table

I was thinking about this the other day with regards to, uh, Tobirama/Chiyo (I KNOW, I KNOW). I would say go for it, just slap a warning on the header. And if it's a matter of interpreting age 'liberally,' well, hells yes.

If this is for gyokusho though I'd say no given that the entire thing hinges on a pretty strict interpretation of canon...

No it's not for gyokusho. I actually...wrote a pretty accurate timeline for that so we wouldn't fuck it up. The character with this problem is pretty obscure so there will be lots of interpreting on my part. WHO KNOWS.
