Everyone leaves neverland eventually

Birthday passed, and am now 22. It was a fun day and I really enjoyed seeing everyone. Went home for that weekend and got the graduate school talk from family and friends. School seems...all encompassing lately. While I usually try to balance school and fandom life it just seems extra hard this semester because there are so many outlying things I need to do to prepare: GRE, GRE subject tests, recommendations, research plus coursework. The pressure just turns my head. I feel at this point I'm just going to have to give up fandom for a while.

Any advice? How do you guys manage the balancing act between fandom/School/RL?

And not to come empty-handed, 2 short drabbles from oh_shit_santa's Sleepover

He doesn't summon Susanno often, but when he does he enjoys the feeling of being protected. Inside the great lumbering body it's virtually soundless except for the creak of joints and sinews, leverage and tension, pulling at the giant's great orchestration. It was like something out of a play sibling gods warring over who would bring out the sun and who the thunder. But childhood was over and now everything was about blood.

Danzo's hit to the chest had shaken him. The warm shelter of Susanno rattling as the phantom flesh disappeared leaving behind rafters of bone, a living charnel house that moved and protected him like a real brother would, like his real brother had.

They were his brother's bones, they are part of his inheritance and not even Danzo could break that. Not like how he broke Itachi. And at the end standing over the man's corpse with Susanno flickering Sasuke sees that all had been planned for him, the great white bones were fused along the sternum like the keel of a ship he would ride forward into oblivion.

Thank you, aniki.

"You know I don't like the black ones so quit picking around 'em." Sirius at 15 is precocious and a bit of a brat.

"You're just worried you'll get a tar one again you tosser" Remus says absentmindedly. He is distracted by 'England's finest green countryside rolling rolling' as James has phrased it earlier when they boarded the express, bellowing out the last syllables in high falsetto. But Remus, rather likes them. Even after all trudging home from the shack through frosted fields that crunched and soaked their trainers. He's always enjoyed the mornings, another full moon passed in the company of friend and the high grey dawn above them, broken only by the sounds of sheep as Sirius in dog form is wrecking havoc..Tosser he thinks again looking at the shaggy black head frowning in concentration over a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans, but sighs and dutifully takes a few of the black jelly beans. Licorice, cool and sweet.

Anyway I have to go storm several college epidemiology departments to see how they like their graduate applicants served up.

sigh
