Back from Florida.
Mostly, I want to touch on two things from my trip. First was the new American Idol Experience at Disney Hollywood Studios. For the "sing anything you want" song, I did "First of May" by Johnathon Coulton. It started out pretty good. The person who was doing the initial judging seemed to be getting into the song and I think she was snapping her fingers as I sang.
Then I got to the first line of the refrain.
That stopped the tryout really fast. It's funny, though. I thought a person was only supposed to sing about thirty seconds worth of song and the refrain was a little less than a minute in. I think my choice of song blew my chances of getting on stage. So, if you ever go to the American Idol Experience and want to get on stage, don't do what I did. If I do it again, I think I'll sing a more serious song. Not as much fun, I know, but the lesson learned here is that there's a time a place for everything. Even on vacation.
That night, I got back to my room and surfed a little on the Internet and I found out that
Wayne Allwine died. He was the most recent voice of Mickey Mouse, my favorite Disney Character. So the next day, I went to Animation Pavilion in the Hollywood Studios and felt depressed for a little while. Both for the loss of Wayne Allwine and the fact that the Animation Studios aren't a working facility anymore.
All in all: Change sucks.
