So last night I got the Eye of Judgment from Amazon. I was hoping to have it before the meet but, alas, that was not meant to be.
I've always been interested in collectible card games, but could never find the time to play or even build decks, so I'm looking forward to the online component so that I can play with other people.
That is, if I can stop sucking on offline play first. The computer routinely hands me my ass and I have the difficulty set on Beginner. I think I need it to be set on Retarded before I can start winning consistently. I guess I just need to work on my strategy skills a little as I can't just use brute force like I usually do in most games.
Set up was... interesting. I thought I could just use the guides on the cloth map for positioning the Eye, but it started having problems recognizing cards sometimes and I'd have to adjust the card a *lot* before it would place properly on the screen. I also had problems casting certain spells as the spells would require a sacrifice and I couldn't get the Eye to recognize my discard.
Another thing that would have been nice would be a clearer view of the fields when placing a card. A lot of the strategy comes from what kind of field a creature is placed so easily knowing which field is which would be helpful. Also, some card can flip fields so easily knowing what the flipsides are would also help.
All in all, I'm enjoy myself with the game, but it's going to take me a while before I can play online since I stink so much.
