The previous night finished with supper at Absinthfrühstück (Absinth Breakfast). Accordingly, today starts in the afternoon, meeting Chris, Colin and Jane at the restaurant India Gate for a mid-afternoon curry. Saturday saw a goth cruise along the Thames, from the Tower upstream to Parliament and then downstream to the Dome ( Read more... )

On Monday, I went up to the roof of Ely cathedral. The central tower is octagonal, and a guided tour takes you up to see it from the top.

Last weekend I visited relatives in Lancashire; and on the way back stopped for a couple of days in the Peak District. Far too hot and sunny, but the views were beautiful, walking along the rivers in Dovedale.
