Three Thursdays in a row
Thursdays 11th, 18th and 25th July all included heading down to London for music and drinks in the evening.
The 11th saw Kommand + Kontrol supporting Aesthetic Perfection at the Underworld. A fine show, packed with everyone dancing, and lots of people who I just haven't met in a while. So good to catch up with folks from both London and Reading, topped by getting invited to a party-for-friends-who-aren't-at-the-ceremony wedding celebration.
Not a gig on the 18th, just wandering in to the Cro Bar. Tonight had a group of Iron Maiden fans from Sweden, and we had a lot of fun chattering about music while drinking the tie-in bottled beer. What few bits of the conversation I can remember are not printable, they were very fun.
I'd stopped at the comic shop first, and in keeping with the Cro Bar's decor had a carrier bag of 2000AD comics. A surprising amount of beer ended up being spilt on the floor, but somehow Dredd managed to dodge and the comics stayed completely dry.
The 25th was Icon Of Coil at the Islington Academy. Great friends, good music, and a great feeling from the music and showmanship.
