Earlier this week I took a trip to the BPL and got a book called
Screenwriters on Screenwriting
that picks the brains of the writers behind such movies as North by Northwest, Ghost, Chinatown, The Silence of the Lambs, Jacobs Ladder and more. It's inspiring, insightful, philosophical and pragmatic. This'll probably end up on my bookshelf courtesy of Amazon.
I also took another book about the principles of adapting work for film and television in the hopes of taking a crack at one of my favorite novels,
, as practice. Teenage angst and melodrama set 300 years in the future just begs to be filmed with a cast of pretty young unkowns.
