Feigned Outrage and Lies

So the latest "controversy" to come out of the wonderful world that is the 2008 elections is that McCain has asked Obama to apologize for his sexist "lipstick on a pig" remark because it was obviously about Palin. Except ... it wasn't. Obama was referring to McCain's economic policies, which in context of the phrase, means that it's more of the ( Read more... )

i swear, if it's not one thing it's another. enough (as obama said) is enough...enough about this gosh darn lipstick comment. it's so stupid and a waste of the american public's time.

and i'm getting so sick of the media fueling the fire. the media has played this over and over and over again. sometimes i wish there was no such thing as a tv so we can't see it again and again.

basically, everyone (with a brain that is) KNOWS obama wasn't saying that to insinuate anything about sarah palin. he was talking about mccain's policies. BUT on the other hand, obama SHOULD NOT have gone there considering palin had the whole lipstick comment in her speech. and bottom line was his audience took it that way and HE should have corrected himself right them and there and not allowed the crowd to take it that way. period. that is why this is stirring up so much controversy. this is my opinion and what i have watched/read about on the topic.

yes, we do relize obama didn't go there.

not sure what to think about the bridge to nowhere thing. i do know that once she knew, really knew, more about it...she really did oppose it.

the jet thing...she didn't say she 'sold' it on e-bay. she said 'i put it on e-bay'. i saw an segment about it with her former aide and they said they weren't getting high enough bids to consider selling it on e-bay so they pulled it off and went through another sale route. they sold it for a good amount of money too.

i think the media is feeding the fire. seriously. anyone who doesn't see this is simply blind. it's terrible. everything with regards to reporting this election is awful.

did you watch larry king last night with chuck norris? i finally laughed during a show about the election. it was just too funny.

The media is totally overplaying these. I also agree that anyone with a brain understands what is what and that Obama should have probably used a different phrase, but why did the McCain camp go out and demand an apology? And sadly, there are people who do believe the sexism accusations (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X03m-vXm_Y).

Heh, similar to your comment about the eBay thing, a cousin of mine told me that "selling isn't the same as sold". The semantics in this election will drive me crazy! Oy.

And I didn't catch Larry King last night. I'm sure I can find it online, I'll have to look for it. Thanks for the tip!
