If your child got an after school detention for having three late assignments already in the term (that means one week of school!) would you fight it? It's school policy, for goodness' sake! Come on, people, it's not me saying, how can I make the lives of my students the most miserable. It's me saying, well, the school is making me do it, so even though I would get a heck of a lot more done before or after school if I didn't also have to watch what your kid is doing, I'm making him stay because THAT'S THE SCHOOL RULE!
That's what I'm going to go say to a parent now. Although I think I'll wait just a little longer before calling. It's only 7:30.
