Customer freaks out over $3

Ok time to actually use this thing so story time! ^-^;

Well for anyone who actually reads this thing, I happen to work at Gamestop, not the best place in the world to work, but that's not the point of the story, so here it is.

I was working last night with my SGA Whitney and it was going smoothly until later in the evening around 7 or 8 when this customer walks in with his kid and a couple of games to trade-in, pretty normal so far. Whitney takes the trades and when she's doing it, a lot of the games are pretty scratched up, so we have to defect it out and the system charges a refurbishing fee for them. One of them, "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" for the Xbox 360, was one of the scratched up disks, so we defected it out. The game was originally worth $8 in store credit, but the refurbishing fee charged $3 and when he found out about that he flipped out. He started going on about how he was a loyal customer at the store and that she was taking away his money, how he knew the store manager and everything. And then he goes on to say that he wants to know who the district manager is and he wants to get in contact with him, also he keeps going on about how he'll get her fired and that she won't work her anymore.

While this is going on, she's trying to talk to him about how other customers would not buy these games in this condition and how WE cannot do anything personally about the fee as it is in the system, but he keeps going on and on. So she asks if he would like to talk to the manager and he agrees, so she calls up our store manager and he talks to the customer and then to her. In the end she gave him his whole $8 for the game and apologized for any inconvenience. Then we proceeded to have a little laugh at how it was all over $8 and he wasted almost an hour of his and our time complaining about it.

So yeah that's my little story for the day.

But other than that, I'm totally excited about my birthday coming up this Saturday :D, but the party will be on Friday, so double the fun!

gamestop, customer fun
