Blake's 7 1x07 and 1x08 in 10 minutes or less
Internship. It has been 4 days, and I am so tired. 3 years to go. I really cannot see how. Sorry me no lj.
If I don't start shortening these reactions, I will never get through this series.
1x07 - Mission to Destiny
All right, so I kind of liked the Avon & Cally murder mysteries. I still want to thwap Blake for taking off with a priceless MacGuffin without checking to see if it was in the box, but I'm beginning to expect that kind of stuff from him.
I liked getting to spend a little more time with Cally. I liked that while Avon figured out the murderer's name, Cally basically uncovered the whole plot through good honest snooping. My favorite moment was when she found a dead body and DID NOT SCREAM. The "alone" when she woke up smacked of, gasp, character continuity. Who'd have thunk?
Avon had surprisingly nice chemistry with Cally, maybe because she took an interest in his work before and no one reminded him she was possessed. He comes off looking slightly less annoying when thrown in with a different crew, though I'm sure they were ready to throw him out the airlock in about 10 seconds, too.
1x08 - Duel
I know this plot is a sci-fi staple, but boy was I bored. Jenna seemed like such a promising character at first. I can believe she's got a yen for Blake but my highly cultured reaction was "who cares?" If only Vila and Gan had thrown popcorn at the screen. Travis was much less interesting, maybe because he only had boring minions to interact with. Who were, by the way, the oddest versions of vampires I've ever seen, and WHAT IN THE WORLD WERE THEY WEARING ON THEIR HEADS?
I hope no one has an answer to that one.
