Every Song a Hit, Every Hit a Smack

A very short ficlet for the prompt of someone getting Paw to sing. I really wish Paw would full out sing one of the many songs he loves so much, I just know his voice is amazing! Anyway, I love the interaction between Roses and Paw when they collaborate, or even when one cameos in the video of another, and I sort of wish they were a couple, but then I feel bad because I don't know the full extent of their history together and it's probably weird to wish two real people were together, but I don't even know anymore. Ok, I'm deciding that if they're going to continue to flirt in their videos, I will continue to ship them. They're just so adorable!

Ok, the title is from Colin during one of the many hilarious playings of Greatest Hits. I'm glad that this game will also be played during Improv-a-Ganza and that some will include the fabulous duo of Ryan and Colin selling together while still mixing it up every now and then!

Pushing Up Roses stared outside at the drizzly world of grey and sighed. She was currently lounging on her sofa, a knitted blanket pulled over her legs, and growing evermore bored just sitting in the semi-darkness with nothing to do. Sometimes Roses really hated blackouts.

“Paw, you promised to entertain me,” she said, her voice almost a whine. She freed one foot from under the blanket and nudged the lanky man sitting on the end of the sofa in the ribs.

“Hold on, I’ve almost got this set up,” Paw said, gently swatting her foot away. He had brought over his old records and his new turntable in the hopes of brightening her dreary day. Unfortunately his record player did not seem to be in the mood to cooperate. “Damn it, what’s wrong with this thing?” Paw smacked the side of the machine in frustration. “It worked well enough during my review.”

“Maybe it mysteriously broke when somebody started spazzing out over a song with nonsensical lyrics and bumped into it several times,” Roses guessed with a teasing smile on her face.

“Hey now, don’t you mess with ‘My Toot-Toot’,” Paw replied, already starting to sing his beloved childhood tune. “Don’t mess with my toot-toot!”

“Paw, as much as I love your voice, I’d prefer it if you sang me a song that isn’t a double-entendre for your illegal activity of choice,” Roses said with a yawn.

“Oh, there’s nothing illegal about what I’d do with my toot-toot,” Paw replied in a low, seductive voice. Roses couldn’t help laughing as she stretched and sat up, making room for the music guru to inch closer to her on the couch.

“I don’t even want to know what that means,” she admitted before resting her head against his shoulder. He placed an arm around her protectively. “But please sing something else to me. I really do love your voice.” Paw thought for a moment before another recent review popped into his mind.

“Raindrops on Roses,” he softly sang, giving the girl’s shoulder a squeeze when he mentioned her name, “and whiskers on kittens. Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens.”

“Brown paper packages tied up with strings.” Roses allowed her voice to join with Paw’s and the two snuggled closer together. “These are a few of my favorite things.”

Sometimes Roses really loved blackouts.
