I just want you to know, that according to my journal you posted this one minute before the theme was put up at ouran_contest. I find that hilarious.

A lovely little drabble. Everybody loves the inside of Kaoru's head (all the cool kids, anyway. :}), and you've gotten inside it quite nicely here.

You have two excellent lines: And worse, they craveher, and ...pretends that he misses the days without her.

what can I say? I'm a fast worker. >D (lolnotreally) I have no idea how I managed to pump this out so fast (and while trying to get out the door and be on time to work for once to boot), but I saw the theme and went "OMG IDEA" and had to write it.

does this mean I'm cool? BD *dork*

the last line is my favorite for some reason, so I'm glad you like it, too. I remember in the anime he was mostly all about keeping things the same as they were, afraid of change, etc., but I like to think that's just him pretending he doesn't want haruhi and the change that comes with her because he feels like he's betraying hikaru by liking it. and despite my love for kaoru, I hadn't written him much at all, so this was a fun little introspection exercise. (x

I think this might be the best trio drabble I've ever read! I love how the last line is kinda open to however we want to interpret it.

thank you! I'm always a bit wary of introspection because I never know if I've got a good enough handle on the character, so I'm glad to hear my interpretation fits. ^_^
