And life goes on...

So we already know I was sick for days. Yes, it was very nice to be able to actually east something when I felt like it on Friday. Granted, on Weds and Thurs I was able to eat dinner, but nothing else. Friday I had an eye doctor's appointment and while I was dilated I was able to snack at my grandmother's house. Woohoo! Food! And then last night the power was out for eight hours. A transformer blew up and caught the telephone pole on fire so we had no power. It really sucked. But we got Super Taco for dinner, which I had been craving, and then we went to the movies. We saw National Treasure.

National Treasure was a pretty good movie. It was clever, contemporary, and worth the ticket price at least. I went with MOm, sister, and sister's friend. Another family was there that we knew, but they had power. Lucky them. :P

I had an EMT class yesterday from 8 am to 5 pm. I guess class was cancelled on MOnday because so many people were sick, so we were given our test as a take home and spent the first four hours of class in lecture, then after lunch we did the practicals. Medical patient assessment, which included vital signs. This woman in my class did my blood pressure and pumped the cuff up to like 260 and I was in tears. It was very painful. Then she couldn't figure out how to let the pressure off so Dad, who was a proctor, had to do it for her. I'm surprised my arm isn't permanently bruised, but it still feels funny.

The damn dog woke me up at 9am barking. Stupid mutt.

Today is one of three or four Thanksgivings for me. My grandmother is leaving for Canada on Weds so we're having Thanksgiving at her house tonight. Wee. Then I have Thanksgiving on Friday and Saturday, and if I find a friend to go to, I'll have it on Thurs too.

birthday, dog, movie, sick, emt, power outage, thanksgiving
