Ah no rest for the wicked.... with the back splash tiling done in the kitchen (more on that later) it's on to hardwood flooring in the office and upstairs hallways
There are really only a couple big jobs left, the hardwood flooring in the office and hallway, I expect that's two weeks to completion (the hallways still needs to be cleared and there's a ceiling to paint, door frames, window frames etc. After that it's trim, paint and install all the interior doors - hopefully not more than a couple days' work now that we got a
nice hinge jig from Busy Bee Tools. It will make the job MUCH easier, and faster, and considering there are 11 doors to do, anything that speeds the process is a good thing. I do like that the appropriate router bit is included.
There's still a boat load of little things to be done, but a once 20 page list room by room is now down to two pages of little bits and pieces. I figure as long as the big stuff is done, we can list the house and keep working on the little touches. End of April is the new goal. Yeah I know we said "first of March", then we said "end of March", then "mid April" but yeah - end of April really is "Ok we're REALLY outta time now!"
For now, the windows and door frames have all been painted, all the laminate has been pulled, we're ready to start laying hardwood. Fortunately now after 6 rooms of this I'm a deft old hand at installing the bamboo now.
Much dramatic change will happen this week. Hopefully I'll even get the wainscoting painted and installed.
The reason sometimes the work goes very slowly:
This afternoon we're off to check out the competition -
this listing just around the corner from us is probably the closest on the market right now to what we're offering. They're having an open house today between 2pm and 4pm.
