We're still fingers crossed and working hard and waiting for news on the financials sorting themselves out. We're still waiting on the Canadian federal tax people and the *Australian superannuation people. Hopefully that'll all get sorted before our credit rating ends up a mess. And there is the eternal hope that the **Western Bay property will finally sell.
No good news on the job front - I think I may be retired now. *sigh* this was not how I wanted it to end. I'm hoping I'll be able to go to the symposium in October, but - right now that looks like a long shot.
I'm keeping busy doing what jobs can be done around here for no (or very very very little) cost - painting some rooms with paint we already have. Building cabinets and gates with materials we have on hand. Working out some project lists and costs in case we do swing *some cash, or even **more cash.
Keeping busy enough actually that I haven't been paying too much attention to LJ, but I'm doing some catch up today :)
Things are ticking along getting the Feychild off to college in - 2 weeks! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! We still have much shopping and ordering of text books to do, but ya know it's a pleasant distraction from all the other stress stuff.
The house downtown sold, the Eldon house is under contract, it's all kinda sad - but we said - "if that happened - it just wasn't meant to be". Still it was the most love I've ever had for a house I'd never actually seen. OK, yes, it makes me very sad, like the Harbour Main house did.
Diet went to hell this week, but damn the
carrot cake was good. However, the
Mojito Freeze pie was pretty close to just as amazing and yummy and you must try this, for about half the calories. I was really unsure about the pretzel crust - but I tell you my friends it MAKES this pie. And I think I can cut the calories down nicely with light whip topping, light cream cheese and splenda instead of sugar.
It was as yummy a surprise as the
Pear and Onion Tart was.
