Declaration Tour post of epic~

First of all, thank you everyone for the hugs and love on my last post *hugs you all back* Yesterday was not a good day for me. I'm hoping today will be a better one.

Now... it is time for the epic post of remembering the epic Declaration Tour~ It will most likely take me all day to actually complete this since I have real life things to do in between. lol

I'll start out by saying it's been almost exactly a year since I saw The Anthemic for the first time after spending a cold, December day outside in line for Jingle Ball. While it wasn't technically part of the tour, everything that happened to me on the tour wouldn't have happened without that night. Mostly cuz that was the night I met my partner in crime! My Stephie! <333 We've experienced this entire tour together and it wouldn't have been the same without her. Heck, I might not have even survived through the night of our first show if she hadn't been there. Literally. <3

We started this tour thinking we might not even get to go to any shows at all. And with all the add ons to the tour we were able to go to four. Is that less shows than pretty much everyone I know? Yes. Did we work a whole lot harder and cut through sooooo much red tape to make it happen. OMG YES! My parents still don't even know that Steph came with me to WV and they never will. XD There was endless negotiating, begging, sneaking, and crying to make it all happen. And it made for four nights we will NEVER forget and appreciate more than I can say.

We originally thought Elkins WV was our only chance at a show, that's where a lot of the negotiating, crying, begging came in to convince my parents to let me drive there and stay there without them. So that I could take Steph... which they didn't know about. Somehow, I made it happen. I drove, with Steph beside me, for four hours or so, through some of the windiest, scariest roads I've ever experienced. We almost died... 33 times, if I recall. XD We sat in the rain for the rest of the day and I had a panic attack during and after the show. Overall the majority of the day kind of sucked. XD HOWEVER, the show made it all worth it!Andy Skib smiled at me singing along like a dork. We got to hear Souvenir the first time it was played! <3 And the boys just put on a kickass show!

Then the boys decided to extend the tour and added about four Ohio shows at the time. We got to go to one of those original added Ohio dates. My mom came. That was interesting. lol That was night we came closest to "meeting" Dave after the show. And by that... I mean, he came out and we got about three people away from him before he had to get back on the bus. -_- But we saw his hair and it was ~lovely~ LOL It was also the night I got to meet Ryan Star, the night he knocked me in the face. XD I love that guy <3

I also got to take this video that night. It has since been one my most watched YT vids and seemingly a bit of a staple banter vid in the fandom. I am proud to have captured this moment. XD

Steph and I were soon informed that Dave would be playing the Ohio State Fair. You know, the one that's about ten minutes from house? We flailed! XD No way in hell was I missing a show that close. lol And Steph and I had an epic unforgettable sleepover the night before! There was glitter and chocolate cake, okay?! And, while we were watching Psych, I randomly decided to take ten minutes and draw on some leftover posterboard I had about a silly joke I'd said about Dave's hair... and the next night THIS happened~

"BEST SIGNS I'VE EVER SEEN~" AND I made Neal Tiemann laugh! Twas the closest I came to having a conversation with Dave this year. lol
Aaaaaand I got to meet Andrew Cook that night! We high fived over being the two tallest people in the area XD LOL

And last but definitely not least, the boys added a show in Cleveland... and I begged, and negotiated and conned my dad into taking Steph and I up there at the ass crack of dawn. LOL But it was soooo worth it. That was The. Best. Concert. I've ever been to. The boys were on point that night. And we were in front row RIGHT in front of Andy. I got to stare at his crotch guitar all night. ;D I also took the sign I had made in Columbus and wrote "still" on it. XD Getting myself a "You're cray cray" laugh and smile from both Andy and Dave.
And most importantly... I GOT SEE ANDY FUCKING SKIB GET SURPRISED INTO SINGING HALF OF MAKE ME RIGHT. IN. FRONT. OF. ME. O_O

I will NEVER forget that night. <3 And it was topped off with Steph and I having a hilarious, epic unforgettable time back at the hotel. Calling our Kel out in California, making a makeshift Andy with pillows and a tshirt to put in my bed and generally laughing our asses off. lol

So, those were my experiences with this tour. But I have to say every single show was memorable. It's been my favorite thing to do every morning when I wake up to head to the computer and check out the videos from the night before. Those boys and have made me laugh, they've made me cry and they've this year an unforgettable one.

A year of following a tour, four shows I went to... I don't have a setlist, or a guitar pick, an autograph, or a picture with any of the guys to show for it. But what I do have is some wonderful memories of four amazing rock shows and fun times with a great friend. And that means more to me than I can say. And I guess I always have next year to see if I can get any of those other things ;D

A BIG thank you to these guys for helping me through some tough times this year. And for making it possible for me to meet some great friends who I love so much. <3 I shall be eagerly awaiting new music and new epic times from each of you. ;D
