Administration and my Homecoming Posters

Oct 11, 2003 14:30

Some people from administration called me down to their office on friday.
They basically told me this: "Are you prepared for what is to happen WHEN you win?"
"Because you WILL win. You have 900 little freshman voting for you just because they think that this is a joke"

In response, I said this: "I can not, nor can anyone, control the purpose that voters go to the polls with. I can only control WHAT I TELL them. I will be telling them that this IS NOT A JOKE. It is all that I can do."

So...without further adeau...here are my homecoming posters...

Poster one: "A minority is powerless while it conforms to the majority; it is not even a minority then; but it is irresistible when it clogs by its whole weight."
-Henry David Thoreau

Poster two: "As long as the differences and diversities of mankind exist, democracy must allow for compromise, for accommodation, and for the recognition of differences."
-Eugene McCarthy

Poster three: "For homecoming Queen...Just vote for Nick. I believe that the postition should not require that I wear lipstick."

Poster four: "DO NOT vote for me because you think that it would be funny. VOTE FOR ME because you value my beliefs."

Notice that poster four contains no mention of my name or my postion for candidacy. I think that it will be more effective this way.

Muah,
Nick
