It's only a step in the process, and I'm convinced this won't end until the Supreme Court rules on it, but it's nice to know that there are still judges out there that are willing to stand up for what is right. Prop 8 has been overturned!

Reading up on what sort of things were discussed in the court case I think it made it a lot easier for the judge. I do get the sense that the pro 8 side brought in a lot of self-righteousness and not a lot of evidence citing why denying same-sex marriages should be legal. I have to hand it to our side for doing their research and covering their bases. I do have to wonder though if the losing side has learned from this experience and might up their game for the next trial.
