At work I sit directly outside the office of the chair of the department of Art. When he leaves he lets me know, so others may know where he is.

Why is it, then, that when people stop by and ask for him and I tell them he isn't here, that they don't believe, ask if I'm sure, then act excited because his door is open and go and check for themselves? It's petty, but I feel vindicated when I see the expressions of disappointment on their faces. >:-]

I may not know all the art professors or their whereabouts, but I think I know if my boss is here or not!
