Unexpected

On this exceedingly long lasting Monday (being lightheaded, to the contrary, does not make the time go faster), I had my Art and Archaeology class, which is being taken over this week by my adviser since Dr. P is out of town. We have made it to the New Kingdom, specifically Amenhotep III and Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten), and Dr. C showed us a slide to remind us of the conventions of sculpture from the Old and Middle Kingdoms. The picture? Arnold Schwarzenegger, in his younger, body building days, leaning against a statue of Khafre (Dynasty IV, builder of the Great Pyramid at Giza), in all his manliness, as a symbol of how Egyptian kings wanted themselves to be represented. It was hysterical, and we all burst out laughing, because Dr. P does not usually delight us with such random images.

It drove home the point, I can tell you that much. ^_^

Middle Egyptian quiz on Wednesday, which I won't do well on. I can't even remember the vocabulary from lesson 1, let alone lessons 3 and 4. This sinus infection and the medication have wiped my memory clean. That, along with what I am sure was a brilliant performance (not) on my Greek midterm last Thursday, will make two strikes against this infection.

Why won't 4:30 come?! I wanna go home and lay down. I hate being lighted and dizzy.

pffft.
