Mardi Gras was mucho fun! I went with Sam, Rachael, Santi, David, and Jc who was with us 75% of the time. We stayed at Rachael's Dad's house which is in the Lakeview part of New Orleans, it was really nice. We went to parades everyday except for Monday because it rained. We caught so many beads. I also got a spear, cups, a stuffed animal, and other cool stuff. I love Rachel's sister, we had so much beer, in fact we had left-overs. Sunday I went to my first craw-fish boil and it was delicious. The floats were awesome and all the people screaming for beads, and of course the great drunkenness. We didn't go downtown to Bourbon at all because Rachael thinks it is disgusting, which it is, but I would still like to go next year just to say I was on Bourbon on Mardi Gras. We stayed uptown for all the parades. We went out to dinner one night and got yummy italian food. We also ate at this local place called Bud's Broiler and got really good hamburgers. Tuesday afternoon I went to my friend Amanda's house for her 19th b-day with JC and lots of Spring Hill people were there. I took lots of really random pictures, a drunk girl with a camera is not the best thing. I can't wait to get them developed! I loved the past 5 days!!!
Now I am back at school. Good things coming up: Emily is coming to visit me!!! She has a voice competition in Mobile so she is going to stay with me and I am ecstatic! Rachael and Jackie's birthday is coming up and it is going to be great! Tons of stuff for DG, initiation in three weeks.
I really hope that I have a good Valentine's Day. Justin hasn't said anything yet so...? I haven't seen him in over a week since I went to New Orleans, but he calls me almost everyday. He makes me laugh so much, I love talking to him. I really would like to be in a relationship again.
I am going to go swim laps today, it has been so long. I've been working out a lot but I haven't gotten the chance to swim in awhile. I am bored already and I've only been back for less than 24 hours. Having breaks always makes me miss summer. In all actuality there isn't that much time left this semester. I LOVE SUMMER! I am loving college, well it has ups and downs, overall loving it, but summer is at a whole nother level.
For lent I am giving up all soda and desserts and I will be going to Mass every Sunday. Lent is a time for reflection too so I plan on taking more time to do that. It's a time to really work on not being so self-centered and working on your bad habits. I like what Lent represents, I think you can gain a lot from it. I hope that I do gain a lot, my faith relationshio has not been as strong as it used to be and I miss it.
