Peace has returned to the realms of Oceania after the battle of Hogfish Reef. The wounded have been cared for and the dead returned to the depths of the ocean, as it always has been custom for both people.
The story of Letoro's betrayal has traveled far and wide; both sharkpeople and merpeople know that they have been victims of a malicious ploy and that they have been turned against each other by the hatred of one man alone. Yet, there is still much to be done to strengthen what fragile trust has been established between the two people who have lived over two decades in fear and mistrust of eachother.
The Atlanteans have offered their assitance in establishing a long-lasting treaty between the two people, acting as a impartial mediator, since Braeg, the high priestess of the Atlanteans has realized that the affairs of shark and merpeople are no longer only their own. The hopes for a peaceful co-existence now rest mainly on Krark, the shark king, and Laron, the new king of the Merpeople who has taken the throne upon his father's death during the battle.
It is the first time that Laron visists the realms of the sharkpeople with an entourage of only two personal guards to signalize his peaceful intentions, and a few councelors to enter the peace negotiations.
Among the traveling party, there is also Maera who is now known as one of the three 'heroes' that prevented the worst, teaming up with two shark men to fight a common enemy and let truth and justice win over hatred and deceipt.
