I guess my weekend officially started on Thursday with Thirsty Thursday. That night was the Charity event for the Ladies Guild at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. I was seriously hoping this wasn't the event that I hated last year. Unfortunately, my fears were confirmed as soon as I walked into the kitchen of the church. It's 350 elderly ladies and their husbands. They are so ungrateful! First of all, there are 350 of you and 5 of us. Your food is going to take some time. We don't have the full facilities of our restaurant at our disposal. We had to put out 50 bloomin onions. Our 2 fryers can hold at most 8 blooms at a time. You do the math. With one girl (that's me) running the blooms, I can only carry 2 blooms at a time because there were no trays or carts to run out and the dang grease was melting through the plastic. Then, I'm sorry that you told us only 300 people had purchased tickets and 350 showed up wanting food. We were going to run out. Not our fault. We wanted everyone to have some food, so sorry that you had skimpy salads, and a very small portion of a few veggies. At least we had enough meat for everyone. If I heard one more person say, "That's all we get?" I was going to hurl their food at them, and let it burn the hell out of them like it was me. I'm never doing that event again. *End Rant*
Afterwards, Christina took everyone out to the Fox for food and drinks. Drinks were good, especially since I didn't have to pay for them nor the shots. Food was alright. I thought the Billard Sticks tasted weird, but thought nothing of it. Bad idea. By 2am, but stomach tried coming out of my body. Definitely knew at that point that I wasn't going into work. Called Vinny to let him know that I wasn't coming in. I fell back to sleep as best as I could in between the phone calls.
The sewer people came out at 1pm on Friday to snake the basement drain. Found out, that lint was packed in there and that the neighbor with her 9 loads of laundry a week doesn't use a filter or anything for her washer. No wonder everytime I did a small load I would flood the basement. It's clear now. I had some errands to run including the post office and the credit union. While coming out of the credit union, my phone rang again. This time it was Outback calling to see if I could host because the other host had her baby. Fine, since I called off from Housing, prolly a good idea to substitute that income. Went in and found out that there was only 3 hosts and that I would have to close. Wasn't looking forward to that. Around 10pm, Mark sent me home and made the other girl stay for me, since I was doing everyone else a favor and coming in on my day off. Went over to the Fox for a drink with Aaron and Brittany. That was fun. I didn't stay long because I wanted to get some good sleep.
Saturday was spent cleaning up bit and then heading to outback to open togo. I wasn't busy there and because we didn't have a roller I thought I would have to stay all night to try and keep up with the silverware. Luckily, as the night went on it was decided Jenn could do it, and run Togo if any orders came in, so I got to go at 8:30pm. Ended up staying around anyways, because I was hungry. Well, I guess after getting sick Thursday night I didn't eat much later. I had a nice big steak dinner. ;) I took Tara home and found Mom not even home. Went back to my apartment, and since it was the perfect fall evening, I wrapped myself in my blanket and curled up on the couch watching tv. Earlier in the evening I had sent a text to Sam. About 1am, I get a text back: I'm drunk. Haha...totally made my evening. I tried sending a message saying, "Drinking Killians or Yuengling?" But I never got a message back.
Sunday was a lazy day. Ayla woke me up kinda early, but I was still trying to get more sleep at 12:30pm. I got my 3 loads of laundry done, and caught up the shows from the weekend. Also watched the marathon of Bring It On, Bring It On 2, and Bring It On: All or Nothing. That was fun. Brrr...it's cold in here. ;) Also watched the NASCAR race. It was a nice fall day to stay indoors and get some cleaning done. Afterwards, I headed up to the Fox to watch WWE's Unforgiven. It's great...jam 65-100 people in one room (because they had a private party in the other room) and I realized as I looked around the room, I was one of 7 females in the room. Kinda fun statistic. We had a good time yelling at the screens for our favorite wrestlers. It was a long night because the special over until 11pm, and I was there at 7pm to get a table.
And finally, I don't know why I complained so much about missing Friday and doing all the work today. It literally took me 20 minutes this morning to type up all the work orders that weren't typed up on Friday. Thank god for no one being on the system before 8:30am. Now, I'm sitting around with nothing to do again. :)
