I knew it was coming when I went to bed last night...

Soreness.

As part of my diet and exercise program that I'm implimenting for my trip next July, I've decided to start walking again. On the muggiest day of the year, I went down to the peninsula and started walking. I know the drill. In order to benefit, you have to keep your heart rate up over 100 for an extended time for a workout. So I started at mile marker .8 on the trail at march tempo for a mile. Okay, in marching band this normally wouldn't be a problem except after 20 or so counts you stop, then start up again. Try march tempo for a mile nonstop. Talk about sweating when I reached mile marker 1.8. Then I slowed down to a nice walk for the next mile. I grabbed water along the way at the 2 drinking fountains. Then when I reached mile marker 2.8 I turned around to head back to my car, at the march tempo rate again. This time my legs and calves didn't hurt so bad as they the first mile. Then after that mile I went back to my normal walk. I was definitely dripping in sweat and my shirt was sticking to me. The back of my thighs definitely hurt, but the calves no longer do. I did stretch before and after. I'm guessing that it would be twice as worse if I didn't. I woke up this morning and had a hard time getting out of bed.

Other news, my cousin Heather had her baby Amelia on Tuesday. She's so cute. 8 pounds, 8 onces, and 20 inches long. Heather's the oldest of all the cousins followed by myself. She's the second of all the cousins to have a baby. Sean and his wife Stephanie had their daughter Kyleigh last year. In case you're wondering in chronilogical order it's Heather (31), Me (26), Alex (25), Rebekah (24), Sean (23), Philip (23), Abagail (22), David(21), Natalie (20), and Michael (4). I'm probably the next one to either get married or have a child. Joy...well Sam did say that it's evitable... I told him I'd bring the sunset and the beach if he would bring the ring and the proposal while we were on the cruise. :P

Tonight is Outback which I'm not looking forward to. The new computer system is almost in place. Everyone got to practice on it, except for me so I'm hoping I can kick Heather out of the room so I can learn it as well. I hear it's especially hard with all the new menus to be able to tell the customer the price right there on the phone. Oh, well guess they are going to have to deal. I walked into Outback last night for a salad, and Jess C came up to me and told me Ryan was in applying for his job back with me. Squee!! Two of the original Togo people back in action...I can't wait! I love Allison and Heather but Ryan and I really work well together. Now if we could get Mary back that would be awesome, but she's making too much money at Wild Cards.
