And now to conquer the world of adulthood

Oh shit, um...

Happy birthday to me.

So I'm 18, and that's cool. Seems we all have a bit of drama on our hands, so I appreciate the timing on that one. I have never had drama in my LIFE. And now you start shit. Yeah, whatever guys.

I kid.

Mostly.

So yeah, birthday fun. It was a little difficult because it was unbelievable cold outside, but we pulled through. Oddly enough, it was 70-something degrees today.

On the night before my birthday, Daniel was real dumb and stayed up until midnight to be the first one to tell me happy birthday. I did appreciate the gesture, though. Cesar called at whatever time it was, and I was all, "Thank you, bed please." Then Melanie called me at 7:30 in the morning, and Lacey sent me a text message that woke me up. And Alex sent me one in the afternoon. Then I got to school, and got hugs and happy things. Lacey made me this necklace. It's SO sweet. There's this bead place in NLR, and it's like something out of your childhood fantasies. Beads wall to wall and on shelves and oh wow, it's amazing. I stood in this cage thing full of beads with Kestin in awe for a while. Yeah, Lacey took Kestin, Lauren, and me there one afternoon. I bought some beads that look like little red peppers, two funkly little... tube things... and a bone lizard. Then Lacey put them all on a necklace for me with all these other crazy cool beads that she had. It's amazing, I love her. Lauren got me a ninja suit. Oh, I'm ready now. And she gave me my late Christmas present because I just gave her mine. She made me a shirt that says, "DAMN. All that change and all you got is 37 cent?" Ohhhh Chris Berry. I gave her thigh high red and white stripped sock things. She looks like Suess. Or a candy cane. s.

Lauren took me to breakfast, and by that, I mean we got pictures together that we had forgotten to do for the senior slide show and then got coffee (and an espresso brownie!). B daaaaaay and then free period. Kestin and Lacey took me to Community Bakery and got me creme brulee and stuck some huge candles in it. "18?" It was neat. Then my parents took me to dinner at Terrace on the Green. Yeah, really nice Greek place. YAY Greek food. I got... lamb shank... I felt like I should have been at a Renaissance fair. But GOD it was good. Scratch that. AND GOD it was GREAT. Mom gave me pretty earrings and a reeeaaaally neat scarf. I've worn it pretty much every day since. Lacey's necklace too. I'm thinking people will notice soon, so I'll change it up.

So my birthday wasn't too bad. It was RAINING the whole time (not good rain. Cold drizzle rain that makes you hate yourself), and I had to drive in rush hour traffic, and I had to be at an all cast rehearsal from 4 until 6 that was frustrating as all get out, spent 2 hours running up and down the aisles, and then was yanked to the top of a staircase by my psychotic drama coach and sung to (sang to?) off key by the cast. Woof.

Then Mom had people over at her house Thursday night and we had cake and played music, and everyone asked where I was going to college and all that. I love those people. They made me sing, but it was pretty cool.

Friday was fun and dumb at the same time. Saw Julie's play. Funny as HELL. Got Sonic. Went to Pavilion. Danced to Elvis in the car. And theeeen drama. Blegh.

And then Saturday! Pavilion again! But first, Lauren made my cake and drew an ugly penis on it. She spelled my name out in the blue "jizz" frosting that came out of it. And did I mention that it tasted amazing? Because it did.

I have pictures, but I'm holding out until Lacey gives me hers.

So that's it for today. Oh, except that today (now that I mention it), I got cheese sticks and a cherry limade. Hurrah!
