As Michiru /
As Sailor Neptune [Background]Little is known of Kaiou Michriu's background before she became Sailor Neptune. What is known is that she was a recognized prodigy in violin, and painting. When she is first seen in canon, she is attended Mugen Gakuen, a very selective high school, and apparently living on her own, which hints at money, either her own or her parents'. It is also unknown exactly how she discovered her destiny as Sailor Neptune, though dreams were probably involved.
She met Ten'no Haruka and felt an immediate, deep draw to the athletic young woman, above and beyond the intuitive knowledge that Haruka was her dreamed-of fellow senshi, Sailor Uranus. At first she tried to encourage the other girl to accept her destiny and fight alongside her. But the blond refused, and Michiru began to question if she really wanted to drag the other girl into the seemingly endless battles she was fighting. But destiny can not be denied, and Haruka became Sailor Uranus, and joined Michiru in her search for the Talismans to stop the oncoming Silence.
The bond between Michiru and Haruka deepened far beyond just being soldiers. They fell in love, though both agreed their relationship should not, could not come between them and their mission. They enrolled in Mugen Gakuen, following a lead that the Death Busters, who were also after the Talismans, seemed to have a large amount of interest in the school. Soon after they met Sailor Moon and the Inner Senshi for the first time. They ran into these other senshi repeatedly as they searched for the Talismans concealed in pure hearts. They were both constantly frustrated by the blind innocence of all of the girls, especially Sailor Moon. It was all well and good to want to save everyone, but if one - or specifically three- people had to die to save the world, it was a necessary trade off.
And yet, no one had to die. The Talismans had been in her and Uranus's hearts, and the Holy Grail was found. It seemed for a moment that Sailor Moon might be their hoped-for Messiah, but even with the grail, the girl couldn't hold on to the extra power. So Neptune, Uranus and their new-met co-senshi Sailor Pluto were still searching for a way to stop the Silence.
They thought, rightly that the young girl Tomou Hotaru was somehow a host for the Silence They wanted to kill the young girl, an action they all thought was an unfortunate necessity, but again Sailor Moon stood in their way. The younger senshi was convinced there was a way to save Hotaru, even after Hotaru was possessed and became Mistress 9. It was only the appearance of the final senshi, Sailor Saturn that kept the world from being destroyed, though it should have killed Saturn in the process. But Sailor Moon refused to let that happen, and managed to draw on the power of all the senshi to save Hotaru, now regressed to a small infant.
Haruka and Michiru stole the infant away in the confusion after the battle, and took care of the young girl for the next few days, before giving her back to her father. Still, they were both angry with Sailor Moon for how close everything had come to destruction, and challenged her to a fight. While who 'won' the battle wasn't really clear, both Neptune and Uranus recognized Sailor Moon as their Princess, and bowed to her authority. And then, their mission seemingly complete, they left the city in the capable hands of Sailor Moon and the Inner Senshi.
[Personality] Michiru is a very mature young woman for her age. Having been thrust into a public spotlight at a young age, she's had to grow up rather quickly. She is very feminine and prides herself on being mistaken for a mature woman. While she's very polite and kind, she prefers to keep an emotional distance from most people, which makes some consider her cold or snobby. A good portion of her self-identity is tied up in her relationship to Haruka. Having spent much of her life as a public figure, she's always been willing to let Haruka take the lead in their relationship. She depends on Haruka for emotional support, probably moreso than even she realizes. The other major aspect of her life is her love for and talent with music. She loves playing the violin, and sometimes finds it easier to express herself through her music. She has a tendency to be blunt, and expects other to be as well. There are few things that annoy her more than people who will say one thing to a person, but then talk about them behind their back. Still, she enjoys gentle teasing, especially to the people she cares about.
As Sailor Neptune she was extremely focused on her mission to stop the Silence to the exclusion of everything and anything else. She was prepared to kill Hotaru to that end, and found the interference by Sailor Moon and the other Inner senshi to be annoying at best, and dangerously naïve at worst. Still, when Sailor Moon managed to prevail against the Silence and save the reincarnated Hotaru, Neptune was impressed, though she still thinks that Sailor Moon, and by extension Usagi are rather charmingly naïve. Taking care of the baby Hotaru awakend a strong mothering urge in her, and she was rather sad to have to give the baby back to her father. Still, she wouldn't mind raising a child one day, when she can finally put down her duties as a senshi.
[Specialties/Abilities] Mundane - World class violinist, and painter. Also an extremely strong swimmer, and very intelligent.
Senshi- She can transform into Sailor Neptune, which gives her access to the following two powers:
Deep Submerge - Calling on the powers of the ocean, she draws energy up and around her body and then focused into a globe of energy that streaks towards her target.
Submarine Reflection - Required the Deep Aqua Mirror, she can use the mirror to focus a wide beam of water energy at her targets. Probably stronger that Deep Submerge.
The Deep Aqua Mirror also can reveal illusions.
[Affection] Michiru tends to keep people at an arms length, though politely. She doesn't trust easily, but will be friendly if cool to anyone who doesn't annoy her or seem like a threat. Feel free to develop affection towards her, it'll amuse her. Romantically, no one has any hope. She's devoted to her Haruka.
[Fighting] Since as far as she knows the world has been saved Michiru's not going to start fights. However, she will defend herself, and any fighting's going to prompt her to henshin and counterattack.
[Other Permissions] Telepathic characters can read Michiru's mind if you talk to me first so we can hash out what said character would pick up. Forth wall breakers can have fun, but it remains to be seen how much Michiru would believe them...
