Fourth Sea Wind // audio

Aug 28, 2011 19:56

[The audio feed comes on to a long moment of silence. Then, Michiru sighs and says flatly,]

Ten'ou Haruka has returned home.

[There is another pause, and then the faint sound of a bow touching strings before she starts to play this]

a world without haruka..., ever enigmatic, she plays the violin, haruka?, alone in the strange new world

It sounds really nostalgic.

Michiru-san, can I come over?

[Her tone is still very flat]

It is fitting.

If you wish. I am not good company at the moment though.

It's not fitting. It's not right that you can't be with her right now! [At least this is sparking her into anger - though not directed at Michiru - instead of her own mopey feelings.

The feed starts to shake as she heads out of her room and towards Michiru's.]

I meant the song.

[She manages a small smile when Usagi arrives, and then turns to finish putting her violin away]

It seems fate here is not kind.

There is little else to do. [Or reason to try now. ]

I have little, but can I offer you a drink or anything? [There is refuge in polite hospitality]

I'm not really that hungry right now.

Me either.

[She sits at the main table. There are art supplies laid out in a very precise order. Like she got them all out, but hasn't started using any of them. Which she hasn't]

I may have to request an extension on my commission it seems.

I'm sure they'll understand if you do.

But I think you should still paint. You shouldn't stop the things you like, even if it's s hard time right now.

I will still paint [That was never in doubt.]

But it is one thing to do so as a release from... circumstances, and another to attempt to do so towards another's vision.

Spoken like a true artist, huh? [If work had begun, she could examine the progress. As it is,she turns back to Michiru instead.] And playing your violin, too. Does it help?

I have always found art to be a great refuge from sorrow. If a temporary one.

I usually eat if I'm upset. I guess we're different about that. [Careful inviting her in, Michiru, she's already moving around the room, looking at everything.]

I could make something if you wish. [There's not much to look at at the moment, though what passes for Michiru's sketch book here - a roughly sewn together stack of paper, is sitting open to a rough sketch of the goddess Freya]

[She shakes her head.] It's alright. You shouldn't have to stop working on these.

Your sketches are really amazing!

It would be no trouble. I'm... not getting much work done at the moment.

But thank you for the compliment. It is a commission for Duroc-san. Playing cards. For a friend of hers.
