ok so the last few days have been intense... and so much fun. i've been living it up like crazy. maybe because i feel like i have to cram everything in here before summer ends, since i leave for hawaii soon. i'll be there for awhile, so summer's pretty much over by the time i get home. aaaahhh just the thought of going back to school and getting a job makes me crazy. i hate leading a routine lifestyle... i hate it! i love having the capability of being spontaneous... no set plans or anything tying me down. but i need to get over that, cuz it's certainly not how it's going to be forever. i've been incredibly fortunate, and am living it up while i still can.

aaaanyways...
friday melissa and i went to chain to see moneen, recover, and braid. didn't know if this was happening for sure, cuz i was only really looking forward to seeing moneen, and i knew we couldn't get there til later and didn't know what time their set was. so melissa gets off work, and we gave it a go anyways. it all worked out, and we only missed about 10 minutes of moneen. i got to hear all my favorite songs so i was stoked. and they played great. hung out outside a bit, met some cool people. it was a very interesting crowd. we also became buddies with these three gay guys who were totally awesome. sooo funny. also saw dave, bob, yada yada yada. head in to watch recover. i kinda dug it. the drummer was awesome. they're touring with finch so that'll be cool to see em again in september. braid: longest set i've ever sat through. and i was starving, tired, and uncomfortable. pretty good stuff, i just was'nt in the mood to watch that long of a set. i mean i love hey mercedes, and it sounds the same... i just didn't know any of the songs and was'nt feeling it at the time. later we went to denny's, where we ate more food than i ever thought i could. then went home. then craaaashed.

the next day was stephanie's birthday. we went to a few beaches. ended up back in sunset, chilled there, then walked to taco surf and had grub mexican food. steph wanted to buy a long board, so we scoped a few surf shops. we head home to shower and get ready for the night, then all meet up at jackie's to pre-game it. gram was having a party, since apparently it was three of the guys' birthdays too, so we went to that. his house is insane. fun was had. oh, did i mention that earlier that day, stephanie and i decided that we should just catch the 7:15am express to catalina the next morning? yeah, it sounded like a good idea at the time, a quick island getaway. but we didn't really think things through. haha, it all worked out actually and had a blast, but that's another entry when i upload the pictures.

hmm, so yeah, catalina was fantastic. i was so beat though. and the next morning i wake up soooo soooo early to go surfing with my dad. but it was worth it. i just got a new board, so i was excited to use it. plus it was fun spending time with my dad. he always comes up to orange county every monday, has some meetings throughout the day, and then we usually go out to dinner and a movie. he normally crashes at the condo and takes off in the morning, but now we've added tuesday morning surfing to our agendas :) things are good between us right now. that makes me happy.
after surfing, i planned on going to LA with jac to shop, but it got too late, so we just shopped locally. later steph and i rode our bikes to 2nd street to get dinner at bj's. we ate by the window and watched all the random people walking by. seeing all the couples made me depressed, but i'm not going to even get into that right now.
we laughed a lot about stupid things throughout the night. i don't even know... we just laughed a whole lot. i needed that. i needed her. she's such a big part of my life, and never getting to see her was really hard. i mean, distance has been an issue for the last 11 years... but a 1 hour drive as opposed to 9 is a big difference. and she's not transferring to USC anymore :(

i just got back from a BBQ/party. met some really cool people. totally chill, funny people. two of whom are my new travel buddies, mark and elliot. hardcore surfers who have been everywhere. jackie's known them for years, and they are such great guys. we're planning a trip to brazil. leaving december 26th for 20 days, staying with elliot's friends in 3 locations. soo stoked. i'm really hoping it's a go. really really.
