neighborly rant

My upstairs neighbor just came down to complain that Lucien woke her up this morning for the second time with his "stomping around." Unfortunately, I was in the bathroom when she rang the bell and Brian was too stunned to say much. This woman is the most passive-aggressive person I've ever met. She has this little yippy dog, which we have NEVER complained about (though she is always paranoid about it), and do you know why we don't complain? Because we live in a two family house. There's noise. We're over it. Any time I wake up during the night, I hear noise upstairs. She vacuums at ungodly hours, etc., etc. So she has a dog that barks, we have a child who bounces. She needs to get the hell over it. I won't stop my child from being a child any more than she is going to stop her dog from being a dog.

I miss our neighbors at our old place. She'd yell at her kids and never think twice about it. :) Noise was just noise, and we all accepted that. It was great.

So, now I think I'll go bounce around with my kid some more.
