I think I talked about this briefly before? But Kid's got a lot of respect for Maya. In canon, it's mentioned that Kid, who has a nervous personality, greatly respects those with "positive" souls - confidence, basically. And he gets a lot of that from Maya! It's something that he doesn't really have at heart, so he admires the heck out of those who do have it. This is why Maya is probably his favorite from the TenTen group - while some of them do seem confident enough (Bob, Bunshichi, and Aya!), none of them really exude it like Maya does. This is why Kid will put up with more of her SHENANIGANS (jumping on his shoulder, trying to get him to train the others). She seems so confident that, hey, it must be a good idea!

As a side note, when it came up briefly last week ... I ... don't think Kid would have a problem with Reiki, and part of that is because he has this respect for Maya. WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS AT SOME POINT, but IIRC, Reiki sort of resembles some of the "demon weapons" from his canon which aren't bad but ... take the right people to wield, because they can be downright nasty otherwise. =/ BUT Kid's got a lot of respect for Maya already, so while he'd want to keep an eye on her, I think he'd, well, UNDERSTAND that it's. not an issue. thing. really, this is just me saying that we totally need to thread more and stuff. :

OF COURSE IT IS AN EXCELLENT IDEA. I AM GLAD YOU CONCUR. Maya, for the most part, appreciates Kidd for being there, being able to bounce stuff off of that she can't/doesn't want to bounce off the core group. And enjoys his sense of humor to boot.

ALSO YES god I am trying to essay on Maya's current viewpoint on Reiki. I think threading more is a good plan.

HAHAHA yeah, I-I have to admit that the Kid-Maya relationship is one of my favorites of his overall, so. SELFISHLY, I WANT MORE THREADS. When you are less raped by life. He doesn't entirely ... get what's going on with the rest of their group, but he's not really the type to pry? This isn't out of being sensitive or whatever, though. XD HE JUST. DOESN'T THINK TO PRY, he can be fairly self-centered like that at times. It's only when it smacks him in the face or is VERY OBVIOUS that there's something that he'll actually, you know, say something, but. General rule of thumb is that if you're from Soul Eater, you're probably retarded. Maka is like the least retarded out of all the characters, and even she gets her moments.

SO ... ON THE PLUS SIDE, HE'LL NEVER REALLY PRY INTO YOUR AFFAIRS UNLESS IT'S OBVIOUS OR YOU TELL HIM. o-on the downside, he is really damn retarded sometimes.
