Grans sent me an owl today filled with pamphlets about becoming an Auror. Normally, I would just set them down and pretend I'd never received them. But today, I opened them up and my god, she'd circled every section about NEWTs and Potions with bright red ink! Every bloody pamphlet looks like it's been trashed by one of those stupid serial killers

I am lucky I talked my Dad out of giving me the book shop after my graduation.
Why don't you write her a letter and tell her that you have different plans?

She is likely to accept your choice if she knows that they are well thought out and not a spur of the moment thing.

Grans won't listen I've tried. Right now, all I can do is humor her, until I find some way out of all this and can convince her I don't want to be an Auror.

Well, when it comes to the melt down, you are out of age and can do as you please. It is not a nice thing to do but it is your life.

Dad WANTED to give me the book shop. Mum and I talked so long at him that I don't want to have it but he insisted. It was just recently that he let go of the idea.

Well I think owning a bookshop would be fun, but I like books so maybe I'm just bias.

I'm not sure if I could do that to Grans. She's been there for me since I was really small. Things will probably iron themselves out, they always do.

I like books, too, but enough to work with them my whole life.
Dad eventually said he was okay with me not taking it over but he made promise that I won't sell it.

It is hard but it can't be your life goal to please your Grandmother. She will see sense someday.
