Attention : Students

Nov 19, 2004 12:39

I will be out of my office this weekend. If there is a matter in need of my urgent attention, please post an owl, and I will address it as soon as possible. I will also be checking the journals if you wish to leave a comment that way. I will be back in my office on Monday.

I wish the best of luck to my students on the quidditch teams, and expect the Slytherin team to perform as well as it usually does. I am sure the game will be fairly played on both sides.

The staff has discussed the matter of the 'war' Joseph Castro and other members of Gryffindor House proclaimed on Slytherin House, and their detention will be determined in a trial by peerage. The details are forthcoming and will be explained by the heads of the houses at a later date. There will extra points awarded for any student who can find when else in the history of Hogwarts such a system was used to determine detentions and the removal of house points and turn it in as an essay.

I am aware many students are tired of the restriction on the school grounds; I would like to reassure them it is temporary and that more help is arriving soon, which will enable the staff to allow greater freedom in safe locations.

I am certain all students are doing their best to reconcile the differences between the houses. To that end, we may thank Miss Parkinson for making great strides in ending the animosity, and that is why she has been awarded ten house points. I expect there to be other such instances of people standing up beyond their personal prejudices for the good of the school, and wait for further opportunities to reward such iniative.
