Does the body not revel in the dance? Does it not rejoice beneath the sun? Just as the body becomes alive in movement it seems to die in stagnation. Stagnation is difficult to overcome in the same way it is difficult to begin pushing a heavy boulder. The resistance is proportional to momentum.
Remember learning about inertia in school? In physics inertia is the tendency of an object to continue along its course until acted upon by an external force. Because of this, in time stagnation is easy to accept and ignore. So often we plod along without any sense of exuberance or fulfillment until we hit a wall, that moment when we’re forced to wake up and ask hard questions.
Then we might subscribe to the false notion that changing external forces will affect the change we seek within ourselves, which inevitably leads to failures in every area of life. By trying to force our will upon the world, we alienate ourselves from it and end up more miserable than we were in the first place.
This repeats until either we perish or learn that our experience of life can only be changed from within. Once we adjust our thinking appropriately-which takes patience, discipline, and honesty-we begin manifesting the reality our true hearts desired all along, which is often very different from what we thought we wanted to begin with.
So move, dance, overcome. Bask in the warmth of the sun and leave behind those things that hold you back and drag you down. Don’t wait to hit the next wall. Stop apologizing and procrastinating. Take a deep breath and come into alignment with your true self. Experience the bliss of fulfillment and joy like never before.
