Oh, bb, I loved this! I will read it again in the morning when I am more awake, but my inner historian adored the premise of this. The way you wrote it was so atmospheric; I could just feel myself out there in the Scottish highlands and I loved it. This was beautiful, honestly, just beautiful.

Oh man, this is - this belongs as a definition of 'evocative'. It feels warm, soothing and beautiful and a little bit rough (but not too rough). There's subtle language porn, and I love Sam's height as a D: WHAT thing because he would have been absolutely freakishly tall at that time rather than just unusually tall, and Dean is so beautiful and strange and snug, and Castiel as a historian/student always fits wonderfully in AUs.

This fic feels like a hot toddy before bed, and damned if I'm not getting some whisky in next time I go shopping so I can make one <3.
