She liked it...she really liked it!!
After racking my brain trying to find the perfect Christmas / New Years gift for my girl I decided to engrave a dog-tag type necklace with our names on it with the words "love always." We've been dating three months now, and I know the feelings are mutually serious, I was just afraid she'd think it was too umm...soon and too permanent?? I don't know. As the time grew closer I was afraid she'd hate it or be freaked out. Yesterday she walked me out to my car after leaving her apartment and I handed her the gift bag containing the necklace and card and awkwardly squirmed and rustled around in my car and told her she didn't have to open it right this second. She said she wanted to, read the card, opened the box containing the necklace...and the look on her face said it all for me, revealing I hadn't made a mistake at all. At first her eyebrows raised in surprise and then a huge smile spread on her face and she proceeded to kiss me long and intensely. I put it around her neck and she said "I love it, and I love you." !!!!!! Afterward I told her I was terrified she would think it was too much too soon but she told me that while what we have is new, it's also very serious and that she's known since our first date that I was right for her.
