My safe haven Sho woke up surrounded by warmth and for that few seconds, he thought that he was finally safe. It wasn't until the memories of last smacked him in the face did he remember that no, he was not safe. In fact, he was far from being safe.
His eyes snapped open and his body stilled as he registered the fact that his face was currently pressed up against someone's chest, someone he didn't even have to look to know who. Sho shut his eyes tightly as he felt the other man breathe into his hair and surpressed a shudder.
Escape. He needed to escape before this man woke up.
Slowly he tried to inch out of Jun's protective hug, only to stiffen as pain shot up his lower back. Wincing, Sho stopped moving in fear of waking Jun up. After making sure Jun is still fast asleep, he continued wriggling out of the taller man's hold, chewing onto his bottom lips as he endure the pain. Finally, he stumbled out of the bed and almost collapsed onto the floor as his legs still felt weak from yesterday’s activity. Sho grimaced as he felt something weird down the back of his thighs but there wasn't time for him to clean up now. Spotting his slacks and boxer at the foot of the bed, Sho limped as quietly and quickly as he could to them and pulled them back up to his hips, all the while still biting on the chapped skin of his lower lips to hold back any groans of pain.
After making sure Jun was still sound asleep and lost in his sick little dreamland, Sho limped as fast as he could out of the door. Once outside, Sho realized that the apartment wasn't that big, the bedroom was the only room in the house. There was a kitchen to his left and a bathroom to his right. In front of him was what Sho assumed to be the living room. The theme of the whole apartment felt calming, the colours of the walls were white and the furniture was all of light colours. But Sho knew better than to be deceived by calm and safe exterior of this whole place. Finally he spotted what he was looking for; the exit out of this horrible yet calming apartment. Hurriedly, he made his way towards the door only to freeze on the spot when he heard a voice behind him.
"Where do you think you're going?"
---
Jun wasn't sure what he was dreaming about but he was rudely awakened by a loud thump. When he finally willed himself to open his eyes, he saw a figure limping out of the bedroom door and instantly knew what was happening. Hopping off his bed, Jun pulled on the grey slacks he had been wearing the previous morning and hurried behind Sho's trail. He saw the other man making his way towards the door and couldn't help but feel angered.
"Where do you think you're going?"
The other man froze and Jun watched as he slowly turned around with an expression resembling a deer caught in the headlights. Sho was only two steps away from freedom and Jun could see him weighing his options. Then Sho moved.
Sho turned and quickly moved to the door, ignoring his sore back and reached for the doorknob. Jun, seeing this, ran towards the other man and grabbed onto his wrist and yanking his hand off the metal before Sho could turn it. The room was silent, before Sho suddenly backed against the wall beside the door and tried to free his wrist from the younger man's grasp.
"Please, let me go. Please, no more. Please let me go. Please please please" Sho mumbled as he slowly slid down the wall, tears streaming down his face. He was scared and afraid, the painful memories of the previous night flashing across his closed lids. Jun clucked his tongue. This wasn't supposed to happen and lightly scolded himself for rushing things the night before. He squatted till he was at the same eye level as Sho and released his hold on his wrist in favour of cupping his face. Sho flinched in the touch but couldn't move away as Jun's hold on him was too strong. Jun moved his head and looked into Sho's scared eyes.
"Relax. Listen to me. I'll protect you if you stay here with me."
"Of course," Jun released his hold on the other man's head. "You may leave but where would you go? Back to the crazy people in the hospital? Back to the guys in the alley?"
Sho's eyes widened and he quickly shook his head. Jun smirked.
"Good, so it's consent then. You now belong to me Sakurai Sho."
---
Sho timidly ate his cereal as Jun went about tidying up his house. Jun had made it clear that he would not hurt him unless he did something that deserves a punishment.
"Trying to escape definitely deserves a punishment but I'm going to close one eye today. Any other attempts will be severely dealt with. You understand?"
He watched as Jun disappeared into his room and emerged back 10 minutes later with his hair wet and freshly clothed. Sho had long finished his cereal but didn't dare move in fear of doing something wrong. He didn't really want to move either with an awfully sore back.
"I've got to go to work today." Jun said, reaching for another bowl and pouring cereal into it. Sho nodded, not quite sure what to do. The roughness of the other man from the night before still left a strong impression in his head and he didn't know how to react when he was treated kindly and casually by Jun.
"I don't know whether I should go though. I don't want you to run off and get into trouble again. I won't be there to save you people who are even worse."
Sho nodded meekly, still unsure on whether he could trust Jun. Jun looked up from his breakfast. Sho was hunched in his seat, his hands were clasped together and he looked uncertain.
"I promise you'll enjoy your life here Sho and I hope you can trust me again. I'm sorry for what had happened last night and I promise it won't happen again unless it's with your consent."
Sho looked up at Jun and he shifted in his seat. Biting softly onto his lower lips, Sho considered his situation.
"You promise?" He asked softly after a minute of silence.
"Yes. I promise." Jun replied.
Sho nodded before giving the other man a small smile. "Then I'll promise to stay."
---
"Sho, put your head on my lap" Jun said to the stiff man beside him.
They have been living together for 3 weeks or so and Sho was still quite nervous around Jum. Although he had trust him enough to not attempt to run away (he had though, been curious on what would happen if he tried to so he attempted to escape. Jun had laid him across his lap and smacked him on his butt like a little kid. He stopped trying after that.), Sho still couldn't help but feel uneasy whenever Jun was around.
He had placed Sho in charge of cleaning up the house after finding out Sho's lack of skills in the kitchen. Sho didn't really mind and Jun kept his promise of not hurting him. Slowly but surely, Sho could feel himself slowly enjoying his stay in the apartment.
Sho had learnt that Jun was a fashion designer and usually worked from home. He'd only go to the office to submit his designs to them and other than that; he didn't really go out a lot. This also means that the younger man would stay at home and watch a lot of TV and request for him to do weird things. Like now.
"Huh?"
"I said, put your head on my lap." Jun said his eyes never leaving the TV screen. Sho hesitated before lowering his head onto Jun's lap.
"Relax." Jun had simply said before he moved his hand to thread through Sho's hair. Sho was still extremely stiff during the first few strokes but he found himself relaxing his muscles at the feeling of Jun petting his hair. It wasn't long before he got comfortable in his position.
Maybe, Sho thought just maybe, the life with Jun wouldn't be as bad as I had imagined it would be.
He then fell into a deep slumber.
