So, back from Botcon. It was a good experience, and I'm happy I went. I'm also really, really happy I waited until they were in state to go, instead of traveling out of.
The Dealer's Room was nice, if a little like playing needle in a haystack. I ended up finding the toy I was searching for (Legends class TF:A Prowl) in the very last booth in the room. I asked EVERYWHERE and the reply I got was, "Oshi--- I know what you're talking about! I don't have it, but if you want one I wanna see it/I want one too." He was loose in a little plastic baggie and I got him and a movieverse Legend Jazz for $5 for the pair. Sew happeh. :)
I was also really surprised; I saw only one booth selling jewelery and there wasn't a separate Artist's Alley. That, and there was only a single panel room, and only one panel per hour; that seriously threw me for a loop. Even a smaller con like Ikkicon (or hell, Yaoicon) usually has three panels rooms, with each one doing something at any given time. One panel, per hour? For the entire con? Buh?? So, yeah, I think if I had spent hundreds of dollars flying out of state and found that out upon arrival, I'd be pretty furious honestly.
In the end I got to see David Kaye (again, last time I saw him was at SDCC), Gary Chalk, and Peter Cullen talk. That was pretty nice. All in all, it was a nice 1 day run.
