riots in thailand

i hate that i don't hear about such things until they spill over into the streets. the simmerings of a riot have been brewing now for some time. why does the american media not see such things? thank you bbc for bringing this to light.
it's weird to think my friends are a part of this, caught in the middle. and here i am, comfortable, complacent, lethargic.
oh america, how will us lazy americans ever survive after your demise?
