Well, now that Belphegor has returned and the frogs will be moving out of my home, I'm going to have a little more space.  The heaters and Toph's fireplace have taken up some of it, but I'm still interested in filling the void ( Read more... )

I thought you wanted frogs for you?

I can't find the kind I'm interested in.

Turtles are probably more like frogs than hamsters.

[No definite statements, not when the animals here are so weird.]

But you did seem fond of them, in the shop.

The one I held was sweet. But I don't think there's much they can do.

Nor can turtles. I can't think of any small pets that actually accomplish anything.

Flying lemurs are pretty good. They can collect stuff, and help during fights. I don't know if you have anything like those here.

I wouldn't know either.

[There's a slightly longer-than-usual pause before she sends the next message.]

There's someone from my world here.

She's crazy. And she went crazier after the war - they had to keep her under guard all the time. She almost killed my friends.

[Several times, in fact.]

Garak, she's really dangerous.

Then you need to move homes. Whoever may know where you are will not know not to tell her; speak to the landlord as soon as possible and switch residences.

She doesn't know where my room is. Couldn't I just ask everybody not to tell her?

I wouldn't recommend it. Actively turning a number of people against her would be a stressor for her; even more than arriving here. I've found that the insane don't tend to handle stress particularly well. Your first priority should be to not provoke her.

Does she pass as normal, and are the people you know likely to befriend her?
