Most excellent slight breeze

I'm in a coffee shop again. I guess its been a year since I posted here and in that time the majority of my blog posts on my OTHER blog have been from coffee shops. This one [Herkimer Coffee] has really bad music playing and the speaker is too close to me and soy milk foam doesn't taste as good as the milk from cows so I am a bit grumpy. Plus, with the heat and my long hair the back of my neck is too hot and my feet (by the fan) are too cold. Grumpy, yes :) But honest to goodness grumpy.

Herkimer is on a busy road and the sky is bright white and radiating heat. Across from me this dude who needs a shave (in the way that greek looking men need a shave) is blowing bubbles with white gum in between sips of coffee. Everyone else has iced lattes because somewhere into summer Seattle coffee shops switch into cold mode and juice shops offer shots of wheatgrass juice and the lines build up for gourmet icecream.

Thats us now.

Summer festival weather - the blue angels jets are zooming overhead in preparation for Seafair - Farmer's Market season when the tomatoes have come in and the squash blossoms are selling by the bag.

Dogs are swimming in Greenlake and its too hot to run in the middle of the day.

Right now, Frost is at a Warhammer Academy. He and some friends (Matthew, Daniel and Isaac) are at the store being shown how to paint miniatures and play with them. Frost is painting a Vampire Count army. The class is great but every day he seems to need one more expensive item- a bat swarm, some particular color of wash, a highlighting brush. The first group of figures he has made are a skeleton hoard and each night he has another task as homework - building, priming, painting figures.

The water in this coffee shop tastes of detergent.

I am going to stop writing now.

I miss painting. I would love to have a day of painting with music and a clove cigarette. [you can pretend I didn't write that. Its just the association.]
